The Global Community Health Volunteers program offers an unparalleled clinical and public health experience, designed for veterinary students and technicians at all levels. Serve in Belize, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Nicaragua, and immerse yourself in rural medicine and animal welfare in low-resource settings.
This internship goes beyond the classroom, offering a holistic view of animal health that directly impacts human health and the local economy. Participants will engage in two critical areas:

Under the constant supervision and guidance of expert veterinarians specializing in rural medicine and public health, volunteers will actively participate in the complete cycle of veterinary care:
Conduct thorough owner interviews (assisted by interpreters) to obtain herd/pet history and understand the environmental factors influencing health.
Mastery of Client Communication in diverse cultural contexts and the use of basic Epidemiology.

Develop and execute comprehensive physical examinations, adapting handling and restraint techniques for non-clinical settings and production species.
Refinement of diagnostic skills and practical confidence in animal handling.

Collaborate in formulating a differential diagnosis and developing an evidence-based treatment plan, adapted to local resource availability.
Strengthening of Clinical Reasoning and the capacity for ethical and pragmatic decision-making.

En Global Community Health Volunteers, nuestra misión es brindar experiencias de viaje inolvidables y auténticas a nuestros clientes. Nos esforzamos por ofrecer un servicio excepcional y un enfoque personalizado que garantice que cada viaje sea único.
